Solid leads are very important in helping any MLM business or program grow and expand, as these leads are key in getting individuals to join and become members. There are several different types of MLM leads, which are generated from a variety of places, and you must learn how to effectively use these leads to help your MLM business grow.
The biggest untold secret of your one-on-one presentation is this: “It’s not what you say or how you say it… it’s all about what the prospect says.”
A one-on-one presentation is not a performance. You are not the important player at the table. Most of the time your prospects are thinking about their own lives and how they will work out. It’s a huge ego blow I know… but they don’t really care about you… or your success or failure.
Your prospect wants to know the answer to this simple question:
“What’s in it for me?”
1. Get Free Leads and have Prospects calling you to join.
You must be asking yourself how this can be done. It really is pretty simple. The first people you will want to try and reach out to will be people who are involved or have been involved in the Networking Industry. How do I find these people? The best way to find them is by them advise that might be able to help them with there business. This advise would be in the form of a free e-book or letter that has helped you build your business. Maybe it is something you have found on line that has helped you that you can offer to other people through and affiliate group. I have found many different things over the years that give away a ton of information about building a strong Network Marketing down-line that have been free of charge.
Of all the network marketing tips I could recommend over any other it is to develop focus and discipline.
Discipline to stay focussed. Discipline to “plough on” when things are tight and discipline to to keep your eye on the long term goal. It’s easy to implement a network marketing strategy but have you got the discipline to see it through.
Staying On Track
When combined with a good marketing plan, discipline and focus will get you through any obstacle thrown in your path. Believe me, to succeed in the MLM business you need both because I’m not going to lie to you, you’ll resemble a Grand National steeplechaser with the number of obstacles you’ll need to negotiate.
I get it all the time, and I know you do too.
“Hey Shiraz Khan, check out my business opportunity. It has a great product, and it’s been in business for years. You’ll make a million dollars next week by doing absolutely nothing.”
As a network marketing success coach, I emphasize that most people simply don’t care to hear about a business opportunity. They’re not looking to join a business, only a solution.
Today, 97% of home business owners fail within three months of joining a business opportunity because of two main reasons.
1. They market the wrong thing.
When it comes to building a Network Marketing or MLM business people seem to naturally choose one of two approaches to build their downline according to personal preference and how they were first introduced to their opportunity.
There are two basic lines of attack as far as I can see:
1. Prospect with the business opportunity.
2. Prospect with the product.
Do you ever 3-way a prospect to a conference call presentation only to find them gone when the call is over? Would you like to know how to keep them on the call even if they have no interest in your business opportunity? Here are a few simple things you can do before the call that will make them feel obligated to stay for the entire presentation.
“You can have anything you want in life if you help
enough other people get what they want”
However over the years at numerous training seminars I have asked these distributors to write down the name of their top 3 team members. After they have completed this task, I ask them to write down the specific TOP 3 REASONS these people are building a business.
The response is always the same, they look like a deer starring into headlights!
I recently sat at my desk listening to a recorded conference call by Dr. Ellie Drake, another network marketing professional. It was an effective teleconference about developing listening skills and learning to connect to people with ease. The crux of the training call was the art of empathic listening.
Empathic listening requires you to ask a question and WAIT for the answer. But while you’re waiting, you’re LISTENING with the intent to understand, not with the intention of replying. Did you catch that? Listen with the intent to understand. Don’t listen with the intent to reply. This means not thinking about what you want to say while your prospect is talking. It means to really focus on the words they are saying and what is going on in their mind. Without judging. Listen to their words, watch their body language, and focus on the speaker completely.
