A Sadie Hawkins Party is a party where girls and young women ask boys and young men to be their dates. This is opposite of the typical style in America where men generally invite women to escort them to parties. What many people don’t know is that Sadie Hawkins originated as a character in the comic strip Lil’ Abner.
Going to a Sadie Hawkins party is a lot of fun. Normally the dance is thrown by an organization and at the party there will be dancing and light snacks available. Frequently Sadie Hawkins dances are held at junior high and high schools as dance in a different season than prom or homecoming.

Since their debut in 1980, Jake and Elwood Blues have been the pinnacle of rebellion for young and grown men alike and wearing dark sunglasses, known as the Blues Brothers Glasses, were their signature feature. These black shades hid Jake and Elwoods eyes and helped them get into trouble over and over again throughout the movie. The Blues Brothers movie is a cult classic and today is a movie that college age me watch over and over again. What better theme for a guy’s birthday, bachelor or even retirement party than the Blues Brothers?

The Yu Gi Oh party is a great way for you to show your children who happen to be into Manga and comics that you too, know all about those fun and hip kids shows. There’s not much to putting one together, as merchandisers have already created a variety of party goods and paper goods themed after the show for you to pick up and use at the party. By the way this makes a great party for you to have at a boy’s birthday party. Its also good for a girl’s party, but not as many girls seem to be interested in the Manga characters of the Yu Gi Oh television series.

I hate to say it and sound like a social biscuit, but my social calendar is ridiculously booked. This weekend I traveled out of state to attend a friend’s birthday bonanza. Honestly, there was a birthday, but I was looking all over for the bonanza. I was sorely disappointed when his apartment was littered with 20 party hungry guests and he resorted to putting on old college videos that only 2 people knew anything about.
